Apply for Home Ownership

Our traditional program for building new homes or rehabilitating existing homes for partner families. Participants must be willing to take on an affordable mortgage, take courses on homeownership and financial literacy, and perform “sweat equity” by volunteering at the work site, the ReStore, and wherever needed (accommodations can be made in certain circumstances).

If you are interested in becoming a homeowner and are willing to partner in good faith with Steuben County Habitat for Humanity, please email us at info@habitatcorning.org, for an application.

Critical Repair Program

Each year, Steuben County Habitat for Humanity applies for grant funding to help homeowners with critical repairs that allow them to live in their homes safely. The amount of funding and the criteria for its use varies. If you need critical repairs, please contact us at (607) 936-4444 ext 408 or email at joveracker@habitatsteuben.org to request an application or for referrals to other helping agencies.
